KJ McKee Hodges
KJ began dancing at the age of three and from the time she can remember she knew that was what she was going to do for the rest of her life.
Growing up in Rochester, New York she studied at Danceworks under Jeanne Palmer Fornarola (current Director of the Dance – University of Buffalo). In Rochester she also attended classes with Garth Fagan choreographer of Broadway’s “Lion King”).
Continuing her passion for dance, she was selected for several prestigious summer intensives (including The North Carolina School of the Arts and the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet) and attended high school at the internationally acclaimed Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. During this time time she was honored to perform many ballets in their national tours.
KJ received her BFA from The Boston Conservatory – studying with a world class faculty such as Sam Kurkjian, Anne Marie Sarazin (Boston Ballet), Marcus Schulkind (founding director of Green Street Studios Cambridge, MA), Ana Marie Forsythe (Alvin Ailey School), Ed Desoto (Limon), Jim Viera, Adrienne Hawkins (Jazz), and Sue Ronson (Tap). She was also privileged to study with the famed Bella Lewitsky (Horton) at UCLA.
Upon graduation, she moved to Chicago to study at Hubbard Street Studios and Joel HallStudios. While in Chicago, she created and headed a dance program for  ice skaters at Niles Skating Center.
From there, she embarked on a ten year professional career spanning the globe – dancing for Carnival Cruise Lines, Star Cruises (Asia), and Norwegian Cruise lines as a soloist and choreographer. KJ also spent two years performing in Branson, MI with classical pianist Dino and Greg Thompson Productions.
KJ opened Just Dance Studios in 2012 and we are celebrating our 6th season. While she will remain involved its ongoing success, she has relocated to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to join her husband and daughter. While Orlando will always remain a special place for them, they are so happy to now call the Smoky Mountains home!
